The people behind the kitchen

Pelagos has never been run by a manager on a rotation. It's a family: the same one that opened the doors more than twenty-five years ago, and they still work the line, take the phone orders, and walk the plates out to your table.

You'll usually find them here: someone in the kitchen before the doors open, someone at the grill through the lunch rush, someone remembering that you take extra tzatziki.

That's the whole thing. No concept, no group, no second location. Just a Greek family that has cooked for this town for a quarter century, and would like to cook for you.

A little trip to Greece, just off the Trail

Pelagos sits in Liberty Plaza on the Tamiami Trail: a small room, a real kitchen, and a Greek family that has been feeding this stretch of Naples for more than twenty-five years.

The name means the open sea. It's what you cross to get here, and it's what the food still tastes of: charcoal, lemon, olive oil, oregano, and fish that was swimming this week.

Everything is prepared from scratch. The dips are made in-house each morning, the pastries are baked here, and the specials change with whatever came in fresh.
